The OUTREACH ministries of New Life are all about reaching our community and the world for Christ. Led by Nancy Blansit, this ministry has several big events each year including; Celebrate Freedom (July 4th), Oak Grove School District Appreciation Banquet, Community Easter Candy Hunt and others. The goal of each one of these events is to provide family-friendly entertainment for our community and to share the love of Christ with each person who attends in a creative and relevant way. We believe God blesses New Life as a church because of our continued commitment to reaching our community and the world.
Here are just a few of our ongoing outreaches that you can get involved with...

Benevolence

This is a fund that is setup and designed to provide assistance to those within our church body that are in need. You can be a part of blessing someone with in our New Life family by simply marking a tithe envelope "benevolence" and placing it in the offering. This is above your tithes. Every penny that comes through the offering for benevolence is designated and used only to assist those in need within our church family. For more information on the Benevolence Ministry please contact Debbie Washam in the church office.

World Missions

New Life currently sponsors and supports over 100 missionaries and ministries around the world. Each year we have a Missions Convention in which we take up pledges for the upcoming year. You can give to missions simply by marking your tithe envelope "Missions" and dropping it in the offering. We have also taken several missions trips throughout the years and try to provide those opportunities as often as possible. Missions is the heart beat of what we do here at New Life and we reach out to our surrounding communities and to the many many missionaries and ministries around the world. We welcome missionaries on a regular basis to give those within our church family the opportunity to see where their missions dollars are going and how they are helping.

Haiti

New Life has a adopted the poverty stricken country of Haiti and the Mission of Hope as our ongoing missions projects. Each year we take at least a couple of trips to the Mission of Hope located on the island of Haiti. The Mission is made up of an orphanage, large Christian school, a medical clinic, and a church. We conduct crusades, reach out to the local villages, and also minister to the more than 40 kids currently living at the Mission of Hope. We have developed a great relationship with Missionary Brad Johnson and the mission giving us the opportunity and privilege to take on various projects for them each year. In addition to financial support we have taken brand new shoes, backpacks, and toys to the orphans in the Hope House. Several people at New Life have taken on the responsibility of supporting a child on a monthly basis from the Mission of Hope.

Listed below are a few of our BIG events we do every year for our local community of Oak Grove...

Celebrate Freedom

By far our biggest outreach that New Life holds each year on July 4th. Thousands come out to our local park for an evening of exciting games, crafts, and entertainment for the whole family. The night ends with a huge fireworks show supplied by the Oak Grove Chamber of Commerce. This event has had a great impact on our community and has strengthened our relationship with our community as well as city leaders. Each year this event grows and more help is needed. To find out more about Celebrate Freedom contact the church office @ 816-690-3514.

Teachers Appreciation Banquet

Every year the week before school begins all of the Oak Grove teachers and staff come to New Life for an exciting afternoon of activities, entertainment, and food. This is not a requirement for the teachers or the staff to attend, but we have nearly 100% attendance each year. We always hear how much they enjoy this and appreciate what we do for them. There is a different theme each year. Some of the themes we have had in the past include; 60's, western, hawaiian, & hollywood. They never know what to expect because each year is so different. We have lots of fun and tons of giveaways. This is event has built an incredible bond between New Life and the entire school district.

Community Easter Candy
Hunt

Every year hundreds of kids gather at New Life to hunt for thousands of pieces of candy. Each child is assigned to his/her age-appropriate group where they pick up tons of candy. We have lots of activities for all ages of kids and many prizes are given out throughout the event including brand new bicycles and there are lots of activities.
